Chemical Company scheduled to return to home station on May 21
BLACKSTONE, Va. - Maj. Gen. Claude Williams, the Adjutant General of
Virginia, announced today that the soldiers of the 229th Chemical Company
are scheduled to return to their home station at the Virginia National
Guard Armory on Reserve Ave. in Roanoke, Va. on May 21, 2003.
Approximately 120 soldiers from the 229th Chemical Company entered active
federal service on February 24, 2003 at Roanoke, Va. These Virginia
Army National Guard soldiers traveled to Ft. Lee, Va. where they prepared
for overseas deployment. The unit was certified as fully prepared for
deployment while at Ft. Lee. Soldiers of the 229th Chemical Company
will complete their active federal service on June 7, 2003.
