Staunton area Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers to return from deployment

STAUNTON, Va. – Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers will be returning to Virginia after serving in Iraq.

WHO: Soldiers from Headquarters Company 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Staunton, Va., will be returning home from a deployment to Iraq.

WHAT: The Soldiers departed Virginia May 2007. After having provided joint area support in Baghdad since early June 2007, these Soldiers will be returning home. 

WHEN: The Soldiers are scheduled to arrive at a mobilization station in Camp Shelby, Miss. on or about Feb. 18.  After several days of administrative processing, they will travel to the Virginia Army National Guard Armory in Staunton, Va., for a welcome-home ceremony, tentatively scheduled for Feb. 23, 2008, but this date could change. The Public Affairs Office will provide updates as the specific date of the homecoming is known.
